What to do if your Discord account is compromised

Act quickly, use official Discord pages, and secure the connected email account before trusting messages or links.

Secure email and Discord

Check the email account connected to Discord for unauthorized changes and secure it with a new unique password and multi-factor authentication. Then reset the Discord password through the official app or discord.com.

Review access

Remove unfamiliar authorized applications and connections. Regenerate backup codes where appropriate, restore authenticator-based 2FA, and review active devices or sessions available in account settings.

Warn contacts and preserve evidence

Tell server moderators and contacts not to trust recent links or payment requests from the account. Save relevant emails, usernames, message links, and transaction details before deleting anything.

Contact official support

Use Discord’s official compromised-account process. Ignore anyone in direct messages claiming they can recover the account for payment or who asks you to change credentials.
