How to find a Discord user ID

Enable Developer Mode once, then copy the stable numeric ID attached to any account.

What is a Discord user ID?

A Discord user ID is a numeric identifier assigned to an account. It is different from a display name or username and remains useful when names change.

A user ID is not a password, login token, IP address, or proof of identity. Sharing an ID does not provide access to an account.

Desktop and browser steps

Open User Settings, select Advanced, and enable Developer Mode. Close settings, right-click the relevant user in a message, member list, or profile, then choose Copy User ID.

Paste the value into a plain-text field to confirm that you copied a long numeric identifier rather than the display name.

Android and iPhone steps

Open Discord settings, find the Advanced section, and enable Developer Mode. Open the user profile, use the profile menu, and select Copy User ID. Menu wording can vary slightly by app version.

Troubleshooting

If Copy User ID is missing, confirm Developer Mode is enabled and restart the app. On managed devices, app restrictions or an outdated client can also affect available menu actions.
