How to protect your privacy on Discord
A few account and sharing habits prevent most common Discord privacy problems.
Secure the account
Use a long, unique password and enable an authenticator-based second factor. Store recovery codes offline and never paste your account token into a website or bot.
Limit unwanted contact
Review friend-request and direct-message settings for each server. Restrict messages from server members when a large community does not require them. Block and report suspicious accounts.
Think before opening links
Unexpected downloads, QR login requests, “free Nitro” offers, and copied sign-in pages are common account-theft tactics. Verify the domain and sender before interacting.
Reduce personal clues
Avoid posting an address, routine, school, workplace, travel plans, or documents with metadata. Review authorized apps and remove integrations you no longer use.
