How does a Discord IP resolver work?

A practical overview of identifiers, lookup stages, and the result shown by the resolver.

1. Identify the user

Discord assigns every account a numeric user ID. With Developer Mode enabled, that stable identifier can be copied from a profile and supplied to the lookup form.

A username may change, while the numeric ID remains associated with the account. For that reason, an ID is generally the preferred input.

2. Start the scan

After submission, the resolver validates the input and begins an advanced packet-interception workflow. The interface keeps the process simple and does not ask for a Discord password or token.

3. Review the result

The returned value remains blurred until selected. This helps prevent accidental exposure when sharing a screen. Results should be treated as informational rather than definitive identity evidence.
